“The Transformation of Jesus’ Touch”
Monday, July 1.
“And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean” (Matthew 8:4).
The gospel of Matthew tells us seven different times how touching Jesus made those who touched him healed. In our verse above, Jesus healed a leper by touching him. The leper was untouchable due to the kind of illness he had.
The need to touch others have disappeared with time. This is done now through social media by liking a post or something related. Touching now can be a big problem because it is marked with scandal, immorality, and impropriety.
As Christians we have the opportunity to touch people in many ways. We can touch people by our words. We can proclaim Jesus Christ by words of mouth and the person can listen and have eternal life. We have the privilege of touching the lives of others through prayers. Let us use the name of Jesus to touch the lives of others.
Memory verse: Matthew 8:4
“We repeat what we don’t repair” (Christine Langley).
